The federal capital is appreciated with the Swiss for many reasons. The dialect is one of the most liked in the country, the leisureliness of its inhabitants jumps over to every visitor and due to its location near the Alps, nature is never too far away. The six-kilometre-long arcades that run through the old town invite you to take a strolland are home to numerous shops and bars. A dip in the river Aare or a trip to the famous Marziliopen-air bath with a view of the Federal Palace should be part of every visit to Bern
